Performed: 27th – 31st March 2012

Move-over-Mrs-Markham-by-Clonmel-Theatre-GuildOnce upon a time there were people in love but as with every love story nothing is simple. In this case, Mr. Walter Pangbourne (John Halley) loves Mrs. Linda Lodge (Carol Acheson), who loves Mr. Henry Lodge (Jim Malone), who loves Felicity Jane Wilkinson (Esther Byrne), who loves Mr. Philip Markham (Sean Bergin), who loves Mrs. Joanna Markham (Patricia Harte), who loves Mr. Alistair Spenlow (Ricky Dunne), who loves Sylvie (Margaret Morrissey). When you add in the need to impress Miss Olive Harriet Smythe (Juanita Guidera) to the mix the games begin in earnest.

In the role of Mr. Markham, Sean Bergin brings his wonderful experience from groups as renowned as Brewery Lane, Carrick, and Stagemad in Waterford to help restore order but not without challenges at every opportunity. He is assisted by his wife played by Patricia Harte who takes to the stage again, having directed the past three Clonmel Theatre Guild plays.

Amanda Kirwan has taken her many years of acting experience to encourage the best performances from her cast of nine in her directorial debut. This dinner theatre will be a very special production not only for Amanda but also for Esther Byrne who is performing in her 50th theatrical production. John Halley, an award-winning director, will be making a guest appearance joining us from Cashel and Margaret Morrissey will be taking her first role with the guild in 22 years.

This play is a farce from two of the most successful writers of comedy, Ray Cooney and John Chapman.

Director: Amanda Kirwan
