Boeing Boeing is a resounding success

Clonmel Theatre Guild would like to thank our amazing audience for making Boeing Boeing a resounding success. The show was a complete sell out and we are very grateful to all our patrons for their continued support of the guild.

Boeing Boeing is a very funny play nicely summed up by our Chairperson Carol Acheson in her welcome message to the audience.

Welcome to our play, it’s called “Boeing Boeing”
Wherein all the people keep coming and going!
Walking in the air with flags unfurled
Let us take you on a journey all around the world
Italy, Germany, America and France
Jump aboard our plane and just take a chance
Thanks for choosing to fly with Clonmel Theatre Guild tonight
We have a hard working cast and crew aboard this flight
So buckle up relax you’re in for a treat
Every chair in the cabin is a first class seat!

IMG_5472 LRProducer Adrienne Small chose to create an experience where the audience were treated as passengers on a Boeing jet from start to finish. On arrival their boarding cards were checked. Crew dressed in Air Hostess & Pilot costumes welcomed them on board and guided them to their seats. There were the customary pre-flight safety announcements with instructions on how to use the oxygen masks, should they be needed due to howls of laughter! Once all seat belts were safely fastened, we took off for Paris.

The cast of Amanda Kirwan, who also directed this production, Jim Malone, Carol Acheson, Paul Kelly, Patricia Harte and Suzanne Dunne were superb. The audience laughed from beginning to end and rose to their feet in grateful appreciation each night.

Set builders Edmond Ryan & Mark Small created a set, which was greatly admired and well able to withstand all the door slamming in this show. The other people behind the scenes without whom no production would be possible were: – Pamela O’Riordan, Colum Dunne, Laura Black, Edmond Ryan, Tom Callery, Michael Hennessy, Juanita Guidera, Rory Moroney and Breda Hennessy.

The raffle on opening night was in aid of St Vincent de Paul and we would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to this worthy cause.

Like a wonderful holiday, Boeing Boeing will be remembered by all who flew with us for a long time to come.
