2018/19 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Clonmel Theatre Guild was held in Clonmel Resource Centre on 29 May 2019.

Chairperson Carol Acheson welcomed all those in attendance. In her report to the meeting she spoke of her personal delight that 2018/19 was a hightly successful year for the guild having staged two very successful plays, ‘Lend me a Tenor’ in December 2018, which people were still speaking about and ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ in May, which drew an audience from all across the county.

She thanked Cllr Richie Molloy who honoured the guild a Mayoral Reception in February to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the formation of Clonmel Theatre Guild in February 1969. It was lovely to see so many past and present members in the Town Hall on the night.

Carol went on to say the exhibition in Clonmel Library to celebrate our 50th anniversary was very well attended, with many people signing the visitor’s book. Clonmel Library were so pleased with the exhibition that they extended an invitation to the guild to hold future exhibitions in the library.

As outgoing Chairperson, Carol thanked all the committee members for their hard work and diligence to the guild over the year, she said she was proud to have been Chairperson in such a special year and looked forward remaining on the committee (if elected) to support the incoming Chairperson.

Artistic Director Jim Malone, Outgoing Treasurer Adrienne Small & President Michael Hennessy all gave their reports and spoke of the healthy situation the guild is in.

The committee will take a break for the summer and look forward meeting up again for the 2019/20 season in August with preparations for our Dinner Theatre production in Raheen in December 2019.
